Term Limits Constitutional Convention Petition

Fellow citizens: Are you mad? Would you like to take meaningful action to restore true representative government to the United States of America? Join our petition effort! Please read and if you agree sign.

Preamble To This Petition (Full Copy Shown When You Click Your State):

We the People of [Your State] and the United States of America in order to restore our liberty do hereby demand that the [Your State] legislature join with other States of the Union to call for a Constitutional Convention for the express purpose of amending the U. S. Constitution by passing a Congressional Term Limits Amendment. The exact purpose of the proposed amendment is to ensure that Members of the Senate shall serve a maximum of twelve years (two terms), and Members of the House shall serve a maximum of six years (three terms). Fractional terms not included herein.We further call for members who have been in office for 20 years or more to resign at the end of their current term of office.

The Truth about Constitutional Conventions (CC) called by the States for the purpose of ratifying an amendment: Some say that such a CC would open up the entire Constitution for a re-write.

That is not true!

The truth is, a state demanded CC has never been successfully executed. The states have come close several times but Congress has acted according to the will of the people each time before a CC became necessary.

The bottom line is that there is scholarly debate about what could / can happen at a state demanded CC. The consensus, however, is that such a Constitutional Convention as we are demanding will be limited to the amendment proposed.
